I met with my therapist today for my first session. Damn good talk brought up alot of things i never thought about but also confirmed stuff that i was thinking about. Again not to be hard on myself and be more comfortable with my self image are a few of the things he deciphered from our session but man it really lifted a weight off my shoulders. Still staying clean 10 days away frm 1 month clean

Glad i did it an it did help just talking i bottled up a lot of stuff over the years that just had to come out
Absolutely. We keep a lot of those things inside. Even just talking can help your brain process and deal with them.
I’m seeing a therapist too. I need to deal with all the stuff I haven’t that is part of the reason I drink. Also for coping strategies. Stupid stress and anxiety.
Therapy is so valuable and I commend you for going. Right now my meetings are enough, but I may one day revisit counseling. I am definitely no stranger to how beneficial it can be and have been in therapy for other reasons. It will be interesting to one day see a counselor now that I’m in recovery. I won’t show up drunk or buzzed to sessions for one thing…
Thank you the one session alone opened up alot of things i need to look into. I will keep clean an still see my therapist to get more stuff off my chest. Hopefully i conqor all these things soon
