Hey anyone. My names matty, and as embarassing and cringe-worthy as what im about to type out, im addiction to pornography. My longest streak was 89 days before i relapsed; mainly had a flip phone but gave in due to wifi amd a lack of afult content blocker. Devided to change that and upgraded my phone.From the few posts I viewed it seems this app is geared toward alcoholism ? Either way, im staying strong and flexible in my approach. Advice is nice and im willing to read. Thanks !

Welcome Matty! This app I’d geared towards addiction in general, there are just a lot of alcoholics in the world.
There are plenty of porn and masterbation addicts here. Try using the magnifying glass icon at the top of the home screen and search for porn. Soooo many threads and posts!
@DungeonMaster is one of the people I am most familiar with and has been around here for a long time. Also @KevinesKay.

Hey, absolutely! Since porn addiction isn’t so obvious by thread names we get a lot of newcomers who seem genuinely confused about what this app deals with. It deals with everything, thankfully.
We also have goofy threads here and there, so you can laugh a bit while still being here.

Sounds great ! I noticed thay by the selfies and meme showers in few of the categorized posts by users. When dealing with these addiction, shame is common; the best method to overcome that is by challenging the beliefs we hold onto with questions and putting ourselves into a more motivational, resourceful state. I made it that far by my efforts but it didnt last out of my lack of getting protection. Now having an up to date smartphone witj protection is added and getting accountability partners is in the process
Really, for myself two years ago I would have nevet done this before out of anxiety and worry out of how people would respond. Your very generous for your outputtowards me. Main goal is for me to reach 90 days, than for there on until I reach a year

Welcome @MattyBee! Impressive work to go 89 days on your own. We have a fe porn/sex/love addicts here but as you noticed, there are many more who also suffer with substance addictions.
Looking forward to hearing more of your story and watching you grow. It’s a very important battle you’re fighting. Don’t give up and just face it one day at a time.

Hey @MattyBee, I’ve been part of AA for 3 months now and I’ve learnt that in AA it doesn’t matter what your addiction is, you say you are an, “alcoholic” I’ve met so many people that are addicted to other drugs and habits that come to the meetings. I think most guys have this issue, well with my group of friends I know they all have this addiction, and with modern devices access to that material is far too easy.
As soon as something gets in the way of not living your life, or you are missing work because of it… It’s a problem. Alcohol is my problem, but when I’m drunk I g I find it gets the best of me and I turn to other addictions. I don’t know how bad your addiction is, but if it’s stoping you from living a normal life… Try some AA meetings or sex addict meetings. I know they have helped others, but you ha e to be there for the right reason.

And I am currenlty attending a therapist each month while battling this out. Kind of difficult to find a sexual integrity group where Im at in Cali; thays why Im reaching out on here. Congrats on everyones success btw !

Yo @MattyBee, welcome to TS man. I’m in a very similar situation to you here. 22, about to graduate college, and I’ve been stuck in this addiction for around 10 years.
89 days is an amazing go of it. I can’t wait to see the sort of numbers you put up with the support of this community. About 219 days ago I went cold turkey, and this app has been there when I’ve had moments of weakness, doubts, and successes I wanted to share.
Stick around, looking forward to hearing those numbers rack up. On to the next day.

Congrats on graduating college. The fight to stay sober is difficult but its possible. Making it past 2p0 days is highly impressive. Mad respect ! For myself its been day 6 and stress did kick in today bit after a meditation session at home with a cold shower I should unwind down. Music on Spotify helps incredibly
