I put some capers on top to make you happy. Most are under the lox so they don’t fall off.

About four or five months into living at this apartment I opened up This drawer that I never opened before out of curiosity and found all of these snicker bars! I know the person who lived here before and he must’ve been hoarding snicker bars from the sober house across the street because we get a lot of donations. I always forget that these are here which is probably a good thing. But it’s seriously the most amount of snickers bars I’ve ever seen in my life. Sometimes I tell myself I’m going to give them away but then I forget that they’re even there. But I definitely remember the day I opened up the drawer and I couldn’t believe lol. The picture doesn’t even do justice it goes really far back and there’s so many of them

Too funny. I’d say you are ready for Halloween… temptation would be too great for me. A Snickers a Day keeps the Gremlins Away would be my motto.

Yeah it’s weird I always forget that they’re there. Then I’ll remember and I’ll eat like five or six of them and then I’ll forget for like two or three weeks. The day I opened up the drawer I was like WTF! I couldn’t believe it. Now if I’m being honest if that was starburst they would be gone by now

We are all fed which is definitely all that matters but our meals are very much based on a combination what’s on sale and what won’t cause my kids to riot . I definitely look forward to those occasional times we eat out so I can enjoy something a bit more adventurous. Lol

This drawer made me think of a story my coworker shared with me about being addicted to chocolate. I had mentioned how I had chosen to quit drinking and he mentioned he understood how hard it was because he had to give up chocolate. I won’t lie at first I thought there is no way this guy is trying to compare his love of chocolate to my alcoholism but then he told me about trying to moderate his consumption by having a drawer full of chocolate in his bedside table like this and he was allowed 1 small chocolate bar a night . Well he failed miserably and ate a whole drawer of chocolate bars in one night and made himself so sick he had to miss work for 2 days straight .He told me it’s all or nothing for him with chocolate . It definitely gave me a new perspective on food addiction. Lol

I’ve been a world class drunk my whole life but I think it would be harder for me to give up chocolate or ice cream. Let’s say as hard. A world without ice cream and I’m pretty sure I made it to hell.

I only had a problem with over consuming sugar once I quit drinking. So it’s pretty obvious, for me it’s more a matter my addict mind is looking for any kind of feel good rush out of anything not about the sugar itself

Definitely. Addiction is addiction. And there is many forms of addiction. This community definitely open my eyes up to other addictions and for the longest time I always thought it was just alcohol or drugs. I’m proud of anybody that wants to make changes and quit whatever is interfering with their life

That was like the first thing a woman said to me at an AA meeting my first day. ā€˜Have sweets nearby, they get rid of the cravings.’ Little did she know that drunk or no drunk, I can’t live without sweets. I always have sweets nearby. I have a rule that I can’t buy ice cream at the store yet I do, almost every time. Oh well, take the good with the bad. Beats booze, I can’t change all my faults overnight. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Ranch in cottage cheese is such a great idea! I like making dips with Greek yogurt too.

Had a yen for porridge after yoga and saw these apricots which I’ve lightly stewed for on the top. Served with oat cream (I thought I was buying oat milk but it’s lovely actually)

I am not sure why the videos are ok on the music thread…baffles me too.

I noticed that the new feature (blur function) works to keep the glitch happening on the other threads. Aga tried it on the check in thread and it seems to have fixed the issue

Believe this is the video that was removed.
