Signed off of work, kicking off a 4-day weekend. Company gave us 2 extra personal days to use for the year, and I am using them Monday/Tuesday.
I have 0 planned, aside from seeing my Dad on Sunday morning. I am looking forward to 4 days of just relaxing. TS Zoom meeting tomorrow.
My 2-yr soberversary is Tuesday as well, and depending on what our governor says tomorrow, retail shops may be permitted to open Monday. If they do, I’ll be going to my local record store to spoil myself.
This is my favorite store in the state, and when I lived in my house all physical record stores (this one included) were too far away to go regularly so I haven’t been since October. Buying records online is convenient but not the same. Now that I have moved, its only 20-30 mins driving.
Since lockdown started, I have refrained from buying records so I can go support the store with my wallet once they open back up – hopefully in a few days! My wishlist is 150+ records lol but there’s a dozen or so that I’ve been itching for.
I miss my local record store. When things would just suck or anxiety would come smashing through, there was something about the smell of musty used records. I always wondered what the story was behind each of the used records… WHY WOULD YOU BUY THIS? WHO BOUGHT THIS? Upon hitting 30 Linda Rhondstat records, THEY MUST HAVE BEEN IN LOVE… lol
It’s funny how there is a select group of bands/artists whose albums seem to be overflowing from every dollar discount bin in every used record store on earth. Linda Ronstadt is one for sure. The group I ALWAYS see, without fail, is Chicago. I swear they have like 50 albums, always in rough shape, going for a buck a piece.
Made it to another Friday sober. Hasn’t been my best week mentally but I’m fighting to stay present and not get too stuck in my head. Hubby is grilling steak for dinner so I have that to look forward to. Then we’ll probably watch a bit of the Last Kingdom on Netflix. I have my women’s meeting tomorrow morning and I’m looking forward to seeing all my friends in person!
Friday here is a pleasant dinner with wife, then a walk together, then maybe a bit of strength training then bed - and looking forward to a virtual brunch with my men’s group tomorrow morning.
I’m glad you have a relaxing evening ahead. What I wouldn’t give to have someone grilling me a steak!
I was just thinking how you liked working from home; would your work allow that even though it’s not lockdown anymore?
