Friday evening here! Made a dinner (ginger pork, pumpkin soup) which turned out just right, and now just chilling with the sound of rain outside. Have a great and sober Friday and weekend all.
Happy friday. Its morning here. Getting the day started off right with coffee and sunrise on the deck. Busy day ahead with work to dos, physical therapy, and giving my sponsee her 10mo chip.
We do recover. Today i dont have to rely on (non medicated) brain altering drugs to cope.
Hey Gang
Itās 3 pm here, just arrived at home from work. Traffic was horror, the whole city is a construction site, no trains by DB running becauseā¦I donāt know, no trams becauseā¦also donāt know. Only busses run. For a route of something like 30 minutes I need 1 hour 45 minutes at the moment.
So I got food from my fav asian restaurant and some sweets.
Everyone I met today should be happy I didnāt scream or bite (pms whoop whoop).
Anyway, now Iām home, I have food and donāt have to see anyone anymore until monday.
Have a beautiful friday!
Afternoon update.
Itās so cold that I fired the kitchen stove. Now cats, dog and me are full with snacks (pets) and delicious spinach-feta-strudel (me), lounging around very relaxed (pets sleeping, me feeling a nap approaching ).
Tummy is better, headache not so. The dog walk did the trick on wobbly, I got even some laundry and tidying done, made some important appointments (yeah, the spare parts for the car got delivered) and got a lovely picture of a neighbourās cat on the deck.
I call it a day, tea and book are ready on the sofa table
Happy Friday gang!
Its afternoon here and the day is winding down to an end.
Got some gym time in today with my wife and trainer, gonna be hard to walk tomorrow!
My youngest son is in his highshcoolās production of Spongebob the Musical tonight, I may go (again). Iāve seen it twice so far, was good times.
Other than that, just enjoying some down time.
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.
Feliz Viernes, happy Friday! Iāve been absent of late primarily due to having started a new job working as a pet sitter for the very company that has looked after my pup Lupe for several years now. They occasionally post on Facebook that they have positions open and Iāve always been tempted to apply and give it a go. Well, I finally decided I had nothing to lose and if it didnāt work out, it was no big deal because I have had a relationship with these folks for so long. Well, I started training last week and have actually met people who Iāve only known through the notes they leave when they have visited my dog. Itās been wonderful! Theyāre awesome people, we have almost like a TS style of chats available on the messenger group about business topics as well as fun topics. Itās a group of about 30 women. I joined their book club! We have chats (I keep wanting to call it a thread, lol!) about all sorts of fun topics. They share my interests in gardening and crafting and other things. Iām making friends in real life yāall! I started on my own this week visiting pets (just dogs so far) and landed a sweet gig being the sole dog walker for 30 minute lunchtime visits Monday through Friday at a client that lives 5 minutes from my house. This dog is like a big version of a young Lupe. Sheās got some animal/dog reactivity, as well as sensitive to large trucks and sometimes people. Lupe had the same issues. Sheās strong as an ox! And I love her to death. The path we take is a steep hill down and back and Iām going to get my ass in shape in this gig for sure (Iām so sore!). Anyway, Iām going off on a tangent.
I have a lot to learn and lots of clients to meet, including a new dog tonight. Lots of different protocols. Iām diving in head first and loving it! I am so happy to have found such a great fit for me that allows me to have flexibility and set my own schedule, do something I love, working with animals, and find a community of like minded people. We even align politically, somewhat unusual for this part of the country. Like the company owner said, I wonāt get rich doing this, but thatās not the point for me. I feel like Iām getting out of a personal rut, feeling useful again and finding connection. Onward and upward!
Happy Friday !!! Itās 9:30pm Rainy, windy and a bit chilly. I went to the loony noonie mtg today for my spiritual shower. I chose not to leave the house this evening for the commitment mtg. Thankfully I have TS to scroll around and amuse myself. Iām really grateful for this outlet to strengthen my sobriety I saw a great t-shirt on the internet tonight ⦠it said āWeird Puns ā¦. Thatās How Eye Roleā
Love it
Thatās amazing news. I am so happy for you
So great to get your update @RosaCanDo. Sounds like a great job and fit for you!
This is wonderful @RosaCanDo I can see you walking the big strong dog
(reminds me of walking my mooncalf
)
Iām happy for you! Sometimes just giving things a go and trying works out in wonderful ways
Great to see you posting and happy to hear your lovely update. Glad you gave this a go. Sounds like a perfect fit and a great opportunity to meet and connect with others. If allowed then pics of the dog would be great
Onward and upward
Lolā¦I love it too
Congrats @RosaCanDo that sounds like an awesome opportunity for you and friends irl sounds fantastic. Keep fighting the good fight
To my Thursday dwellers, I once again bring you the future.
Welcome to Friday⦠You have much to look forward to.
Wonderful colour and movement from the clouds this morning. Also had a guest appearance from two guinea fowl that have randomly turned up and decided to wander around the property. Weāve asked around but not found any owners yet - so they might get to stay and be guard birds . The decision is theirs.
Wow, tomorrow looks like a great day!
Guinea hens are great for eating ticks I thinkā¦do you have ticks there? Maybe not, no deerā¦
Yep. We get ticks here. Mostly cattle ticks that are annoying but fairly harmless, the ones you have to watch out for are the paralysis ticks which will inject a neurotoxin which may cause paralysis if untreated. Just another Australian danger fauna to add to the list
Weāve had no trouble with them, and keep the pets treated for safety. And yes, guinea fowl love to eat them!
OMG I ADORE the guinea hens! We had a wee family of them when I was small I loved them! The noise they make I can still hear it!!! Theyāre wild tho my grandma tells me they always tried to fly off and theyād have to go look for them out in the fields!
Iām curious why the Friday Thread started on Thursdayā¦. Is there a glitch ???
