Froot Loops 🎶

The Cars popped up on my random play the other day. I use to love them. I haven’t heard them for so long. I think they belong on the Fruit Loops thread
Fun band from. Way back :joy:

This was so much fun to listen to last night leaving the beach in the dark evening marine layer. It’s been so long since I listen to it. Could have been first time sober. I felt like a kid. I’m glad no one saw me rocking out. :joy:

I can see the real me :kissing_closed_eyes:

Lucius - Genevieve
The song starts at 14:06 but I just love how they improvise the percussion for this extra.

I think he just threw these lyrics together around that guitar. :upside_down_face: Was it Kurt Cobain who said that music comes first and lyrics are secondary? :sunglasses:

I never listened to lyrics in the past. Only if they were spelled out to me. Except for Dutch lyrics that is. This makes me think of this awesome cover by the Amazing Stroopwafels. The Dutch part translated:

I’m standing on the freeway with an empty tank
Rain pounding on the roof
I’ll have to hitchhike to get home
I think of you with every step
In the distance the Ford Transit remains
I’ll never get loose of you
Seeing the Caltex in the mist
Oil slicks on the river ‘de Maas’
I’m walking on but I cant go anywhere’
it’s still raining and I feel so alone
Now that I’ll never see you again
Oude Maasweg, a quarter to three
Now that I’ll never see you again
Oude Maasweg (Old river lane), a quarter to three

I almost always go straight for the lyrics, especially if I love the music. I guess it’s the poet in me. I want to know the thoughts and emotions that went into getting the song out to the listeners. :slightly_smiling_face:
