Getting sober from opiates

Hello, I am new here. I just created an account and this is my first post. I have been addicted to opiates for about 4 years now, had an 8 month span of sobriety about 2 years ago while using suboxone, but started doing pills again and quit going to the doctor. I went another year using, and then went 16 days cold turkey this october. on day 17 I got a text of someone selling and I was stuck in my boredom and figured well there’s no way I’ll get addicted off one time I’ve been clean almost 3 weeks…but I was wrong here I am still addicted since that day and it’s december. I want nothing more than to get sober and stay sober. obviously the withdraws are very scary to think about, let alone go through. I just did my last percocet about 20 minutes ago and am hoping to get the worst of it over during the weekend because I go back to work Monday. I am looking for any stories you could share with me, motivation, support, anything at all. Thank you

My heart is with you, I know the anxiety your going through. I was on morphine for 5 years and I am going on 3 years clean now. You can do this… When I made a decision to quit I did alot of research on the internet and prepared for what was to come. I got juices, multi vitamin and melatonin… And there is also alot of YouTube videos on how people made it through their withdraws and succeeded in breaking their addiction that I found very helpful. Good luck and you can do this seriously. Hugs to you…

I’m already proud of you, you’re doing the right and very brave thing.
