Good days are the most critical8

227 days sober and I am feeling great. I have energy, my smile is brighter and my confidence is high but I’ve learned from my past that our best days are some of the most critical. When we’re feeling good is also when we may feel “too comfortable” and it is easier to let our guards down. I know this is true for me. In the past, I would go a long time without drinking and I would have a series of good days…and that is when I needed to focus the most because I would get too confident about my ability to handle a few drinks…then BOOM, I’m at the liquor store buying a bottle…then two…and I’m back to where I started.

I said all this to say, stay focused. Never convince yourself that you can “handle It…” If we could, we wouldn’t be on this journey.

Have a good day and remember to stay focused.
