  • Being able to go on a holiday to New Zealand to visit family
  • Being able to save money
  • Having a comfortable bed to sleep in

  1. Ringing in the new year clear headed and sober last night!
  2. Every moment I get with my senior pups.
  3. The patience serenity that sobriety gives me to deal with wireless providers ALL day as they bounced me around from person to person with no answers whatsoever
  4. My husband, for making even the most tedious outings fun and sweet.
  5. Gluten free/ dairy free frozen pizza that tastes good! (Gf DF due to allergy….not choice)

Grateful!!

  • 6 hours of quality sleep!
  • Lots of laughter and fun with my husband this past weekend
  • Efforts to wake up my creativity are bearing fruit
  • An energized and upbeat mindset to start the week
  • Waking up to a clean kitchen (and the foresight to clean it the night before to start the week off well)

  1. My five years of sobriety passing without me noticing it…every sober day is a good day, but still… I am proud to say I have been clean and sober for a half decade!!!

  2. My changing body and it’s wisdom

  3. That I got meals prepped for the week and have nutritious food ready to go.

  4. For a little extra time before my new job starts. Soaking up the free time with organizational projects and gym time!

So 5 things, :thinking:

  1. My mother, brother, grandma & grandpa, and my God son
  2. My job
  3. That I have food and a roof over my head
  4. Mental clarity. Example: I have a clear head, not foggy, not hung over, not tired, and focused.
  5. I have a community (sober time) that is here to support me. I appreciate the time I get to vent, respond to others, and over all just check in and feel safe.

My Friday ritual is a cauliflower pizza I get from Walmart. It’s in the cold section. I add some pineapple, ham, and a pizza seasoning. “Almost” the real deal haha

  1. Doing what I say I’m going to do! Following through 99% of the time is a really special gift to give others and I don’t miss out on important things.
  2. Healing from a very bad relationship I had over the summer. Rather than coping with drinking and drugging, I’m going through the motions and letting time soften my strong feelings.
  3. Noticing numbers and signs from Angel guides.
  4. Driving. I do not take it for granted and am happy not to spend money on cabs and Ubers.
  5. All the non alcoholic options to choose from at bars and restaurants these days. Especially in a big city.
