They sneak up on me when I’m around certain people but I play the tape through here. I know that first one would make me lightheaded and then I’d be right back in.
Reading Allen Carr and realizing that you are smoking craving to craving while stoking those cravings helped me a lot.
I still get random cravings which is crazy bc im not getting them like that for booze. Nicotine is a bitch
It probably helps that my husband still smokes so I never get to romanticize it. I still hear the coughs and smell the stink.
Today is day 8 without smoking, after +30 years smoking… not easy but I’ll go one day at a time!
Well done on 1+ week…it does get easier so stick with it. Great work friend. What a perfect time to quit…I see you are on one hell of an adventure (selfie thread)![]()
Great work on stacking up 8 days without smoking. Keep fighting the good fight! Your lungs will thank you
Yep the improved breathing. Where I live a pack cigarettes is $10.00 a pack unless you go to the Indian reservation.
what an insanely expensive habit… I think we were around $10 when I quit - sure its’ way more now as the price keeps rising ![]()
So very grateful to be saving that money and recovering my health
Keep up the great work!
The stink is unbearable. My wife still smokes but every once awhile she’ll go outside to smoke. Don’t miss the taste at all. The thing I miss is the oral habits, the need to be holding a cigarette
I miss the carelessness of the habit I think. The “I’ll never die feeling” of holding a lit cigarette in my hand. But it is a constant reminder of how gross the habit actually is when I can smell it on my husband and hear his morning coughs.
I’ll keep my knowledge of mortality. He can keep his bad habit.
Try to use your wife’s habit as a motivator for yourself and if you are still allowing her to smoke inside I would try to talk that through. Ick.
Congratulations, my friend! That is inspiring!
Thanks Anna! Great to see you, hope you’ve been doing well ![]()
Wow! That’s an amazing achievement Menno! Congratulations on your double digits in years of being a smoke free ![]()

Heck yeah @Mno thats some impressive time!!
A Decade of healing!! Awesome!!
Hi friends. I smoked and quit cigarettes long before I quit drinking. After a month of sobriety I became angry from a relationship event and started smoking once again. Husband despised the habit and we fought almost daily. Last December switched to Vaping and had not one argument over the habit. I did use the lowest nicotine product available and happy to report I completed first week without any nicotine. I feel like I have made it through the toughest part with cravings and am getting use to not having any product in hand. Strange though I want a parade with fireworks to celebrate. Is that really asking for too much? Hahaha
It IS a big deal. Great going Tailee. Big congrats.
Thanks my friend.

Congratulations @tailee17
