Yea I get that. Couple of months in I was stood in a grocery store on holiday with a can in my hand. I put a couple in the basket, put them back on the shelf. Walked around shopping and circled back and stood in front of the booze for what seemed like an age haha must have looked mad. But I didn’t drink that day or any other day after.
@Treason86 I work in a male dominated field, with a drinking culture in a country of drinkers too. You might be the first at work to give it up, but you won’t be the last.
If you have to skip a few functions or dip early then so be it. Reality is if everyone there is drinking no one will even realise your not there after a bit
Friend…one of the biggest lessons ive had to learn in sobriety is patience….us addicts learn to get a quick fix for everything and so we don’t have to have patience for anything….sobriety isn’t like that….nothing happens quickly….its a slow process but one that is worth it….its hard getting sober when you have to wait to feel better….you’ve gotta get used to feel like crap for a while to get the results you want but trust me when they do come they are tenfold because they are real and worked for….then youl see that the quick fixes have no comparison
I leave you all to keep on fighting for your sobriety. 8 dropped the ball today and feel like 2 and a 1/2 months are flushed away. Thank you for your support.
