Good morning Everyone i would like to thank you all that wrote a comment under my last post. to help me keep my strength last Friday. And I would like to happily say, I did not give in to my urges. I stayed home and watched a movie with my 2 boys because I’m at a point in my life. We’re I’m trying to be something that I never had and that’s a sober parent. My father passed away due to alcoholism and my mother is still struggling. With a crack cocaine addiction until this day. So I really don’t have a big support system of sober, people around me.
So knowing that somebody hears me and that I am not alone. Is an amazing feeling And I would like to thank you all again…Be Blessed

Glad you’re day is better today Navymom. Glad yo find support in this place, it has meant so much to me - and still means a lot to me too. Keep going! We’re in this together, and that’s no idle speech. Glad you’re here with all of us. One day at a time. Hugs to you and your boys over the waves.

Be proud of yourself! That experience made you stronger and you are ready for going on with your sober journey.
Very brave and strong that you choose the healthy way over the addictive way and do better for your boys! I am happy for them and happy for you!
I also don‘t have my parents at my side or as role models (not because they are addicted, but for other reasons). They are good people but they are a little judgy and not the community I need for my sobriety. It’s even more important to me to find a „sobriety family“ and friends who understand me, are rooting for me and have my back when I am struggling.
I hope you find the right people too - and you can always come here if you need support or someone who sees you.
