Hello Everyone 👋

Hey everyone

I’m Bexx but most people call me Fyre as that’s my online gaming name so I’ll just go by that

I’ve been an addict for about 12 years with bits of clean time throughout. My drugs of choice were crack cocaine and heroin. (Oh the shame)

I’ve been through detox and rehab once and did really well… until I didn’t.. I have relapsed and so now today is the day I turn my life around. I’ve just returned from a 6am run (which is not me at all but its something I want to commit to) I plan to make a written plan/schedule for my first 10 days, which I’ll do today.. I’d like to keep busy as I get bored SO easily so any advice there would be great.

I guess I should mention I have used meds to help me ease into these first 10 days, I have a few days of suboxone left, then it’s off everything completely.. which I’m dreading. I’m hoping I can make some great friends on here who know what I’m going through and who can support me as I support them.

I’m super charged for this and would love a buddy to do this with, if there is anyone starting their clean time this week - let’s do this together

Hello Bexx,

Just remember one day at a time, go easy on yourself, long hot shower always work for me, also long walks always clear the head, we’re all here for you and so proud of your decision you should be so proud of yourself, make a habit of buying yourself something tasty every day, chocolate works :joy::rose:

I know it was rather chilly, and very much like silent hill (the game if you know it, very foggy and creepy) but was well worth it.. 2 laps of the local park and I was huffing and puffing, tomorrow I’ll do 3 laps tho!

Yes I’m motivated and really want to stick with things this time, I’ve done it before and know I can do it so yeah feeling good :+1: what about you? What’s your story?

Well at least you are back on track matey! That’s all that matters! I don’t plan to slip up again, I’m soooo motivated to do it this time, which is why I’m trying forums like this, which I’ve never done before, heard it really works tho!

Southampton… no idea where that is, just know that’s where titanic set sail from lol

Yes 3 laps… it’s gonna kill me, I’m in no fit state to be running at 36 years old also I feel like about 96.

How long have you been using this site & does it help for you? I might have to do a meeting daily too, otherwise this forum will end up with new topics from me allover it, there’s only so much one can post on here before it gets too much lol!

Good luck to us both anyway, we got this!! :flexed_biceps:

Good morning
@FYRE @Callumgs89

I hope your both having a good morning

I’ve tried those drugs years ago but never got hooked. I was falling down the rabbit hole super quick. Then out of some god like merical I was literally pulled out of my living arrangement by my wife. 1 month after I left I got my first real job ever. 1 month after that I found out I had a baby on the way. Now I’m 886days without a drop of alcohol and no hard drugs. 395 days no form of marijuana no CBD THC hemp nothing pot and 526 nic free

Sobriety saved my life and I’ve never done anything stupid from just being sober

Every second sober is a victory
I go to online zoom aa meetings. Some meeting go for 24hours everyday
You can attend them with your camera off. You have that option be4 you call the zoom meeting I’d number. You can listen or raise your hand, it’s up to you. Just look them up on google.

Good luck and don’t pick up. It could save your life

Have you considered checking out in-person/virtual 12 step recovery meetings?

There’s already a program of recovery that has worked for millions of other people just like you, why try re-inventing the wheel? That’s what the 12 steps are for…

I tried doing it my way lots of times, and it didn’t work for me. Now I work the 12 steps and am in my 7th year off of narcotics alcohol and marijuana.

That would be my advice since that’s what you asked for, either way I hope the best to you. Also, welcome to both of you @FYRE @Callumgs89 keep us updated guys!

have a great Sunday and much love

Welcome!!! I like ur action plan that uv begun! Exercise was and still is crucial for my recovery. Glad u were able to get a run in! I found having a routine specifically helpful. Every night, id write down what i would be doing the next day and at what times. It helped me stay busy and not focus on drugs so much. My DOC was crack cocaine also. Opiods i left behind over 11 years ago. The withdrawl can be brutal and so make sure to seek help if u need.

One thing to stay busy (and its recovery focused) is meetings. Have u ever tried them? CA, NA, AA were all helpful for me. I used to attend in person meetings for many years but now attend online ones thru the intherooms app. That may help keep u busy. I also journalled, did guided meditations thru the Insight Timer app, did crafts, baked, exercised, cleaned (ALOT) lol, and did lots of self care. Just a few suggestions

Hope to see u checking in daily
