Here we go again

I need your support guys. It’s like the 4th time I reset my counter since I downloaded the app. It doesnt mean i only drank 4 times. I drank so many times since the first time i tryed this that i just got lazy resetting it. I need some advice.

Hey @Zoey. First of all don’t beat yourself up, that only leads to feelings of failure which will probably make you want to drink again. I’m new here too and have also reset but I do not feel like a failure because I’m still here and I’m still trying. I find checking in here regularly throughout the day gives me the support I need right now. Everyone here is very supportive and they really do understand what you’re going through. Never give up giving up.

If we stick to trying again and again, we will be successful. Success might be having a sober weekend or a 5 years sobriety celebration. Till now it took me uncountable restarts. Resetting the counter might be a helpful tool when saying ‘ok, shit happens, but I will be the stronger one; so let’s do the exercise again’. Actually I am deeply thankful for any day the counter jumps forward. It feel like doing a long distance run, saying myself ‘let’s go on another 100 meters and let’s complete one more km…’. So I keep on running and I enjoy. In my opinion: when falling down, We do not got back to the very start, but we stand up again, proceeding our way and keeping an eye on the ground. Come on, let’s stay strong & let’s stay sober :muscle::+1::green_heart:

One day at a time. That is what I have to tell myself every single day. Some days are better than others…but I promise you it gets better. I spent years numbing my feelings and things that happened in my life. But now that I am sober, good things are happening in my life. Don’t give up, even if you slip, leave it in the past and move forward. This disease will kill us if we give up and don’t fight it. My prayer is that we all continue to fight this daily and realize we are powerless to all drugs. That we take a stand for our lives with the help and support of others. We can’t do this alone, but we can do this with the help of other alcoholics and addicts. I love each and every one of you, God bless!
