That first picture - with the large, smooth cliff of rock alongside the water - reminds me of rivers I’ve paddled in Algonquin Park
I love that place.
Happy to been able to walk a bit longer than before. Did a 17 km/10,87 mile walk.
This is Texel, our biggest island in the north of the Netherlands.
And Texel cows…absolute beautiful walk, looks great. Love a lighthouse ![]()

They use those cows only to mantain the wildness in the dunes. You can walk trough them.
The main income on Texel is tourists, sheep, tulips and other bulbs.
It looks truly beautiful and wild and quiet, like up near Skågen in Denmark or some other beautiful archipelago in Sweden. I love that windswept solitude. Gorgeous.

Great biking trail @One4theroad I think you’d love it up here Franzi
Pacific Ridge Trail looking toward the Pacific Ocean. It’s hard to tell the separation of sky and water with all the clouds. But it’s there.
I feel like I could have hike all the way to the ocean. Get an uber to take me home

Beautiful. And you guys keep it so green💚
Im so lucky to live in this region the older i get the more i appreciate it. Its been a long time since I’ve been able to get out walking but since ive been taking the prescription Thiamine i feel like my energy is coming back and the neuropathic pain is easing. I pray i have found a way to get my mobility back and get my walking boots back on like i used to! Sober living is the way forward for me.
Me too in California.
There are so many hiking opportunities around here. And I don’t even need to drive to some them. And they’re just right for a 65 year old. Not too easy and not too hard. But I bring my poles just in case.
I’m happy to read your meds are working and your energy is coming back. I still want to explore your coast one more time before I go.
On a clear day you can see the Pacific. Been socked in lately. Still beautiful. And this is behind my hood. I’ve learned to be content just doing this one. It’s a good, just a little over an hour, loop from my front door.
Love it Eric, you are lucky to have that right on your doorstep and even better that you appreciate it enough to use it. I bet theres people who live in the area who dont bother to go exploring. All you need is sturdy boots, water, and food and time to kill! Good for the mind and body abd does cost a fortune to enjoy!
