My tree has been up for a few weeks. I made a ceiling wreath this year from dried grapefruit, pine cones and beads, which looks pretty on our hall light:evergreen_tree:
Almost every year, we go to this town called Leavenworth which is a Bavarian themed town in the mountains. It’s a real big deal this time of year.
They have several Christmas themed stores that sell all kinds of ornaments.
We like to chose one for each of us to commemorate something we did in the year.
I chose this one for the 30+ mile backpacking trip I did with my kids.
Penny got this one for our summer trip to Disneyland
I got this one, not in Leavenworth, but in Portland when I met up with my pal @ChicagoT
It’s nice to have a tree of memories like that.
I wish that was something my parents did when I was young.
Thanks.
Benson was well behaved for a pic.
I showed you mine. Now you show me yours
My daughter-in-law surprised us with them when we were down in Cecil Court in Covenant Garden when we were there last week.
Love your tree.
Lovely Ornaments Dan, and I’m so happy you have one that is associated with our meet up - I’m honored! Was so awesome to meet you in Portland, and I hope we can meet in person again soon!
It’s been great crossing this 5 year sober mark pretty close to each other too. Hard to believe we’ve been pals ever since you first commented on my day 1, right here in this forum.
Talk soon my friend!
You should come to Seattle the weekend of April 13th, the Cubs are playing the Mariners that weekend!
Well, well, well - that sounds like a blast!
Could probably get my sister to come up from Portland for that!
May just have to set that in motion!
@Thirdmonkey How is Mrs. Monkey’s trees coming along? I feel like we have only seen one and we all know there is like 12
Normally 12ish. With the new grand baby, we have had tine to put up 4. I will get pictures tomorrow
Your kitty is beautiful.
Not really a decoration, but when we lived in Florida, I planted one of those Christmas poinsettias you get and it turned into what they are in the natural world…a beautiful bush. I really loved that.
Awww, that’s beautiful! I’ve never seen one in nature. Here it’s too cold for them outdoors.
My first one is confusion lol
Is it a present?
Yep. Wrapped and in my husbands stocking. Our car needs it so it gets wrapped.
i love it!
A friend and her family (all adults) have a gift-giving rule: under $25 and consumable. Coffee beans, olive oil, motor oil, hand lotion, etc… makes sense to me!
And hey - the motor oil takes up a good lot of room in the stocking
That’s some shit my family does “You need toothpaste? Check your stocking!”
