Hi! Welcome to the community! I recommend reading around different threads and if you feel like chiming in on a conversation then you can reply to another member’s comment or reply to the thread more generally. Of course there are lots of recovery based threads specific to people who are working on staying sober, or looking for support, but there are also more fun threads like the foodies thread, posting pet photos, and the memes thread.

I recommend starting at the daily check in thread and reading a bit, then posting when you want to check in, if that is something you’re interested in. The link is below. I’m sure you will get the hang of it soon especially if you take the time to read around. Glad you’re here!

Welcome!! Best way is to jump right in!

Here’s some tips to get you going:

This is the “Home” button, click this to return to home page.

In the home page, the default view is latest. It will show threads with the lastest updates to it. This is where the action is. You can also change this to show new threads or other categories.

To reply to a thread, click the Arrow (yellow circle) below the individuals post to reply directly to them… or the Reply button (red circle) to reply to the thread in general (or OP). If you use the indivual reply (yellow), that person will be notified that you replied.

Before replying, check the date of the post. If you search for a topic (using the magnifying glass at the top), you may stumble on an old post and a reply may be to an individual that is no longer around.

Personally, i feel that creating topics (like you just did), should be for an overarching idea or topic to discuss, not necessarily to be used like a facebook update, if that makes sense. BTW, this is a good topic because it can be overwhelming for new comers!

Hello and welcome

You have had some brilliant replies already but just wanted to welcome you and share how I started as was fairly shy. The check in thread Rosa mentioned is a great start, and then just have a look in the active threads to see what interests you. You are very welcome on any thread. I find the same people pop up in a thread so you get to know people, and if you are in a thread that appeals you may have things in common.

I see you are already at 4 months, amazing  Where are you from? I am at 56 days now and in England

Have you done the discobot tutorials? They’re very helpful to get the hang of navigating the forum. Discobot isn’t very social though, so you’ll have to intact with us forum members for that part.

Here’s how to get the tutorials started. You can reply to this thread and type exactly what it says below and you’ll get a message in your inbox to begin.
