August 2022, at my rock bottom and desperate for help, ive been here every day since and stayed sober

January 2019. Like most, I was looking for a sober counter, instead I found a bunch of innocent people to argue with. It’s been a bumpy few years, with highs and massive lows, many of my lows being live-posted on here.

Lucky for me, the mods here have the patience of saints. After four years of trying and failing and trying and failing of trying and OMG! I fell down a fucking canyon!, then slowly crawling back out, and… then jumping inside the dark hole yet again… Yeah, you get the idea. Sobriety finally stuck and this community still has my back.

I love you guys. Truly.

I joined Talking Sober June 2 2019. Was looking for a peer support group more than for a counter. Found it too. A week later I had my last bottle. Never looked back since. I do believe I’ve been here every day since, except for the one day the forum was down. Must be my BPD black and white thinking. Finally making something of my life and I have this place and the people here to thank for it.

October 21. I was searching for a sobriety counter, trying to put down alcohol addiction. Found a great community, support and strength.
We’re all in this together :v:t2:

Since 2018. Did some googling cause local (Finland) platforms were not satisfying. TS has been one of my tools to stop drinking, dive into sober lifestyle and of ever continuing recovery.

My stats say I joined Dec 2016….but I’ll admit I don’t know if that is for Talking Sober or Sober Time. :joy: I know I downloaded the Sober Time app and didn’t notice the message group for a few days/weeks. And then it took a bit longer before I dipped my toes into the group.

I did also delete the app a few times as I struggled with constant relapsing but it’s now been 4.5 years since I downloaded the last time!!

6 days ago……which makes this day 6 overall for me. I just went to the app store looking for something that might help me and found this community. It is definitely helping. I check in every time I feel like a drink, which is really often! I’m rocking a pretty good headache today and could do without the “bed sweats”! Hopefully those symptoms don’t last too long.

I don’t know about the “innocent” part, at least for me, but this made me chuckle.

Joined May 2018. Sober since March 2021. Permanent dent in my head from banging it against the brick wall of trying to moderate and just flat out giving up. I simply wasn’t “willing” to accept and drop the rock that was my addiction to alcohol and dualistic thinking. Grateful for this community, AA and TLC.

Found this in Dec of 2018…right as I was hitting rock bottom and deciding to get sober. While there’s sometimes gaps in my posting, I am on here reading every single day. It’s a huge part of the reason why I’m 5.5 years sober at this point! There is a direct correlation between the amount that I read on here and my clarity and sobriety.

I think I’m one of the oldest old-timers on here. My profile says I joined Oct 4, 2016, TS was invaluable at the beginning and especially during the first year. Now I come on to read and check in and see cat and sunset photos, lol.

September 20th 2022, I found it the same as most. I love this place and the people here. I mainly read and try to learn as much as I can but I think I’m getting better at opening up and posting more. In my world that seems like nobody understands me, finding this community has been one of the biggest and strongest wrenches in my toolbox. Thank you to everyone here.
