Staying sober a long time in a row of days is difficult but the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done

Also

It’s the easiest thing
Just don’t pick up that first substance

There’s liquor stores on every block
They will always be there but I don’t drink just because they are there

You have to do this for you and I truly believe you can

I reached out for tips how to fase in my visit to my own music studio because of the association with weed.

But thanks anyway for your words

You can’t avoid something you need to do. I’m guessing music is close to you

People blaze at my job but I don’t

Hope I’m helping my man

I also play electric guitar

The best way to make music in my opinion is to have as much fun as you can

Good luck

You are 100% right! I should just go and see what it does to me. I think I start with no other people there.

Thanks for replying :slightly_smiling_face:

I would probably take tons of snacks and a lot of water (or whatever soda you drink). I believe you can do it. If you never been there without smoking weed that it probably will be new exciting experience, definitely in positive way  At least I hope it for you. Let us know how it goes. We are here rooting for you.
Stay strong :right_facing_fist:t3::left_facing_fist:t3:

You may have to face the reality that a place that you strongly associate with your addiction may have to be avoided in early sobriety (at least 3 months, realistically longer). Focus on your recovery program, making music away from a triggering place, and then face it when you are stronger. When you are stronger, things like going in at a different time, not with people you used to use with, having alternatives and a will to leave if you feel tempted, may help.

Thanks! All my equipment is in my studio so and that’s the only place I can make my music. Tonight om going there just to see if I can and what is does to me. I’m hoping I’ll feel good and as strong as I am feeling now. If I feel an urge I’ll pack my sht up and leave. The good thing is, there is no weed there and not close by.

I’m really feeling good so I got good hopes

Coming from someone who left the scene and returned following sobriety… it’s tricky. On one hand we have our addictions that have been long associated with music production, and on the other hand music is the best therapy on the planet. Luckily we can retrain our brains. I would get into the studio. So much is going to start coming in creativity. You can make it through and create something fresh and amazing

You know what. I did it. I went, sat down, turned my equipment on and started a new project. In my head i was reaching for a joint but there was none. After 30 minutes I was lost in my music and I had a great evening. Not as long as usual but it gave me strength I’d hoped for. Bit by bit day by day. The universe wants me te make music and music will save me. Thanks everyone! Day 6
