My partner and my flat mate drink in our flat so there is always alcohol around. I’m 8 days into my sobriety and have been doing so well, however there is currently an open bottle of wine on the counter and no one else is home, I can’t get my mind off of having just having one glass.
I can’t stop thinking that one glass wouldn’t be so bad as my issue is binge drinking but I feel like the fact I want a glass so badly is a sign of a deeper rooted issue. Any advice?
Poor it out. All of it. I found a pint the other night wanted to give it to friend but.knew I wasnt strong enough to.
I agree with @Taralorene, either that or get out of the flat. Go for a walk or something else. I’m scared that I’m going to be weak when the urges of “just one drink” comes. I would pour all of out of the house, but we have ALOT and my husband still drinks. He isn’t ready to stop drinking (or doubt that he ever will be), so I have to be strong … be strong @Scb, be strong!
Thank you both, I’m going to go for a walk until my boyfriend finishes work as I find it easier to not drink when I have people around me. I really appreciate it!
Tip it down the sink! If you are a non drinker it’s going to go off anyway, isn’t it? It’s not worth the battle in your head
I’m a binge drinker also, but all it takes(as u know) is that 1st drink to start another binge. That’s are sickness, which we have no control over.
Yes go for a walk, or dance to your favorite music! proud of you for not having that glass. That’s exactly what I would do, I’d say just one beer then it’d turn into a 6 to 12 pack and another day hungover. Hangovers suck and the drunk feeling is temporary, the peace you get from the walk is long lasting <3 you’re not alone.
@Scb im agree to all of the hints. Poor it out. IT will only trigger you . U are in power to choose . Now or never . Out of mind out of state. U might think after u poor it out , that u will go back and forth … iTs useless . Do your self a favour.
Dump it. I just wanted one glass last night and drank the whole bottle. I had only gone about 36 hours without, but the wine was in the house and calling my name. You can do this.

Don’t do it, 8 days is so much to throw away. Do something to get your mind off of it like clean or meditate. Hell, leave the building if you have to. You’ve got this
