I keep having to reset

Every morning I wake and reset this app hoping that today will be the day I get through the first 24 hrs. I finish work and find another excuse and start to drink again. Maybe talking to people who understand will help.

I made it 36 hours and am sitting here with a glass of wine. I feel like a failure. Somehow, we can do this!

Not a failure, just human. Best thing and only thing you can do is learn from the mistake, and make it better next time. We are constantly growing. I know it’s hard, but every single person I have met who is sober said it is the one of the best decisions they made, but it was also one of the hardest. Every thing that takes hard work is worth it.

I hear you. I was the same way. Like Jekyll and Hyde. Swear off alcohol in the morning and by quitting time was already wondering what beer to get and where. Would slam down a couple talls on the way home, and drink until it was time to sleep once I got home. Wake up cotton mouthed, dehydrated, with a pounding headache and be a prisoner in my own skin all day until I reset the next morning. Vicious cycle. The first few days suck bad, but after a week you will be thinking yourself because you will feel much better.

It has taken me the last 4 months to get as far as I am right now. 4 days sober going on 5 longest in over a year. Continue to read and understand more. The more I let myself feel and acknowledge all my hurting and pain towards others the more I knew I have the rest of my life to be happy and great. Everything I’ve always wanted and the bad is only my past what made me to.who I am today. Whom I will be. I didn’t think my.day would come but it did and yours will too. Don’t give up you can do this. One day at a time! We got this!

Wake up this morning & write down 5 things your going to do different to stay sober today & act upon your list. If your cell helps you to set up drinking activities after work. Maybe you could leave it turned off tonight. Or delete some contacts that consistently hold you back. Last & most important in my opinion, attend AA meetings. If you continue with them ,you will be amazed at how life can change.
