Hi everyone, just thought I’d check in as I haven’t posted for a long time. I’ve just checked my sober app and I’m 565 days sober today. Sobriety is just part of me now, I still have “wouldn’t it be nice to have a glass” moments but they are usually fleeting and I’m still soooo grateful for all the support I got on here when I started this journey. One user in particular (naming no names) gave me some very tough love and I asked admin to delete my profile (was having a tantrum )
Anyway, they said why not think about it, so I did and decided to stick around, so glad I did!
To all those newly sober or debating it, seriously if I can do it so can you, I promise xx
Congratulations on your 565!! Glad you are still here and thanks for checking in!!
I think it can be healthy to take a break now and again. I also understand the desire to burn it all down and delete. I do always hope it is a choice versus a reaction… and I know that isn’t always the case.
So lovely to see you posting and with such a wonderful update Sarah! Congrats on your 565 days! So very happy that you did stick around and are so committed to your journey. Keep going strong ODAAT
Congratulations! If tou haven’t tried to delwte your profile at least once, are you a full-fledged member? Thanks for sharing, it is ao great to know there are people out there, just getting on with their sober lives!
Congratulations I’m trying to get there I’m fresh out of Rehab Shout out to Mountain Laurel Recovery Center in PA. But I’m approaching 60 days sober this week and I’ve already experienced some triggers and one close call with a soft relaps. Literally walked up to a liquor store while on the phone dealing with one and the door was locked just missed the closing time by 20mins . And I couldn’t been more happy at that moment. I leanred two things that day #1 I really know that I’m determined to do this because instead of being upset the door was locked but how elated I felt when it was. And number to it didn’t take more than a hour for me to feel at ease with the situation I was dealing with. Which gave me a good idea “ if I feel to drink just wait an hour and you’ll see you can handle things in life without it !
This is fantastic… your mind is looking in the right direction!
I’m glad that door was locked. You now have the opportunity to keep moving forward, without regret.
I’m new here; I’m 33 days free of my drug of choice. When I’ve been triggered, I’ve found a ton of support by coming here and engaging with these great people…
Try to stay connected, each day if possible. We’re all rowing the same boat together!
