I’m honestly falling apart just yesterday I officially got diagnosed with fibromyalgia and it’s like hurting my uterus and things so I have it there to on top of something that’s called joint hyper mobility syndrome

and mind you I’m 26 years old I wasn’t expecting something like this at all and the worst part about it is I barely have any family and the very little that I do have doesn’t really no anything about what I’m dealing with and thing is I haven’t even told my parents because even if I did try they probably tell me it’s all in my head or something stupid like that

I feel extremely alone and kinda lost for words I don’t even know what to do anymore I don’t even know why I came on here you guys don’t even know me other than me complaining about my feelings/ situations and im extremely sorry about that I hope all of you have an amazing rest of your night sorry for coming on here and complaining again I’ll honestly try to stop that

This is a hard diagnosis to deal with. Especially for someone who is so young. I am sorry you don’t have anyone around that can support you or help you deal with this.
What options has your doctor provided? You don’t ever need to apologize for coming here and seeking support or advice. That’s what this space is for.
I am sure there are fibromyalgia support groups in line and maybe in your area that would be helpful. Could possibly help you figure out what next steps are and how to help you manage the symptoms.

I am sorry that you are also dealing with joint hyper mobility syndrome. I am not familiar with this but hope you are able to find treatment.

Let me tell you… None of what you are experiencing is in your head. I am so sorry that your body is acting out like this. Please keep looking for support groups, help on line or in person to help you heal. I know first hand that the medical field doesn’t always have all the answers. Keep advocating for yourself and don’t let anyone dismiss your symptoms.

Thank you so much it’s extremely hard and not easy yes those things aren’t deadly but yet still extremely difficult to the point that most days you don’t want to get out of bed but yet you have to you know what I mean and

Joint hypermobility syndrome

isa connective tissue condition where a person’s joints move beyond the normal range of motion, often causing pain, instability, and frequent injuries and I was told by my dr the having that along with fibromyalgia makes everything kinda worse in a way

and yes I bet there are support groups but not shere on were to find them I use this one to kinda vent out my frustration before I relapse in my sobriety because dealing with what I’m dealing with and things will make it worse so I’m glad that I’m sober and not doing anything like i used to back then

I’m glad you can vent here. We are here to help support you in wherever way we can. Grateful sobriety is in tact and you are not reaching out to old ways of handling bad news

I brought up support groups only because I find that being around others with similar conditions or chronic ailments can help us not feel alone. We can find validation that our pain and symptoms are real and are in fact a lot to deal with. The symptoms don’t have to be deadly for them to be devastating and exhausting to deal with in a daily basis. I also found that being around others who deal with same issues gives me ideas of how to deal with my day to day. How to manage when the pain is unbearable.

You have just recently been diagnosed and that in itself is a lot to process and digest. I do hope you can find support from your family members. Know we are here for you.🫂

Hi! You’ve had some troubling news and I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this stuff. But, all is manageable! I will expand… from this humble recovering alcoholic primary care provider and the most current, evidence based recommended treatment we use at Logan Health (up-to-date).

Your fibro is best controlled/managed with a healthy diet, adequate water intake, stretching and a consistent activity regimen. Sure, with laxity/hypermobility you have to be cautious on types of activities so as not to injure. I recommend swimming, yoga, use of neoprene sleeves for large joints (knees/elbows) for support with any running/ jumping activities.

Lastly, you have been kicking ass & managing substances…no reason to believe you can’t do the same for these. Big hugs to ya! We press forward.

Thank you it’s not easy and I’m not going to lie I did think about picking up again just to kill the pain but I know deep down that’s never the reality and it will make everything 10 times as worse if I did so honestly thank you All for coming on here and helping me through this tough time I really do appreciate it

The advice and support you’ve already received is first class 🌟 but I just wanted to emphasise:

You’re not alone

No need to apologise

We will support you

It’s not in your head

Using will make everything ten times more difficult and painful

💛🫶💛

Reach out to someone within your group and get a network of your own started. Thats one of the beautiful things within our recovery groups . None of us EVER have to deal with the issues larg or small of ANY kind ALONE. Remember you are never ALONE in your ongoing recovery. Reach out to them. Blessings of healing to you. Prayers for less pain and a solution that will set you at ease.
