I went to my first meeting today

And it was really great. Lovely group of folks. I plan to go back.

But I feel super lost in terms of the structures and the customs. I like knowing the RULES!! :sunglasses::rofl:

Can anyone point me in the direction of like a good beginners guide or intro? Any thoughts welcome!

Which fellowship did you attend?

Would have probably been helpful to mention! I went to a virtual AA meeting.

I also felt lost for the first while, it’s totally normal!!!

Here is a virtual copy of the Big Book and 12 traditions.

Also if you look around that site you might feel a little more familiar.

Some meetings are topic meetings that will be set at the begining of the meeting, some read from literature and then people will share on what the reading brought up in their mind and heart… Or, you can always just share on your day and where you are at in your sobriety, how you are feeling etc.

It gets easier, I am glad you heard something that made you want to go again.

Thank you for responding! Do you think the Big Book is something worth getting a hard copy of?
