I’ve tried numerous times to quit but I keep going back to it. I’m losing this battle
Hi, just keep reading some stuff here and talk to people. You will get there. Stay strong.
We all loose battles- many of us daily. But each battle, won or lost, helps us grow stronger for the war within ourself and as long as we keep trying we have a chance to succeed.
Like any battle its easier to win when you have fellow soldiers fighting with you… so keep doing as @Mivec85 suggests- keep talking and keep gaining strength.
I know how you feel @My_fit_life85. My advice to you (even though I’m only 9 days in) is to think positive and tell yourself you are going to WIN this not lose… you have to stay strong. This site is helping me tons. Whenever I get the urge to have a drink I read the testimonies and remind myself where I was 9 days ago. How shitty I felt and ashamed when I woke up hungover and would clean up the empty bottles in the morning. I don’t want to be in that place anymore. That is what pushes me to go on. I deserve more and so do you! You CAN do this and just by you downloading this app is evidence that you WILL! Stay strong stay positive Gob Bless
I’m 9 and a half days in too and have been on this forum nearly as much as Nature hippy. Well… not quite that much… lol, . But it’s helped me a lot to stay focused and remember the big picture is the pursuit of happiness and a better, healthier life!
Thank you guys. This really means a lot and I need to make sure to stay strong and continue on my path.
If it’s too tough to quit, then don’t be afraid to look into a rehab center.
I will admit, I just couldn’t quit. I tried and couldn’t do it. So I went into rehab.
I had lots of fears of detoxing, mainly having seizures as I saw a relative of mine have them when drying out. We had very similar s drinking habits too.
I cut way back, but never could get out of what I felt was the danger zone to completely abstain. Ultimately I was powerless over alcohol.
