I’m having some strong issues and I love to drink. But it’s hurting me, both mentally and physically. I’m getting sick after a sip or 2. I’m getting out of control when I do manage to keep it down!

Im having the same problem with small amounts of alcohol making me sick. I quit drinking for a bit last year and just trying again got 3 days so far. Im sorry about your jobs I hope it gets better. <3<3
P.s kombucha ginger and various teas seem to help with being sick. Alcohol destroys the gut. But if its severe withdrawal you might need different medicine.
Sorry you’re are struggling and feeling ill. Welcome aboard! I was very similar in my last few months of drinking. Found help in a detox clinic and then went directly to inpatient treatment for 3 months. Got introduced to AA and been going strong ever since! You can too, friend. All it takes in the beginning is a desire to stop drinking & willingness to put in the work.
Really glad you’re both here! I’m not an expert, but my best advice is to work through your cravings even if it’s just 5 minutes at a time. When you think about not drinking forever, that can feel overwhelming. Telling yourself you won’t drink for the next 5 minutes, or until you’ve checked in here or gone to a meeting or something can help. You may want to get medical advice to manage your withdrawal.
You have to be willing to address head on the fact that you still crave a drink even when it makes you physically ill and decide if this is the way you want to continue.
Being here is a great first step–this is a hugely supportive community and we all know what the struggle is like. You can do this!!
