Insomnia/Battle for Sleep

Basically I’ve been clean and sober for 89 days, and life has been great. Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of moments that I do experience cravings and other hardships along the way. Unfortunately, it does sometimes effect my sleep patterns, but most of the time it’s because I’m so used to not sleeping. My drug of choice were methamphetamines. I could really use some suggestions on how to get a better nights rest, or possibly sleeping on a normal schedule, without the use of medications or any mind-altering substances. I’ve tried Google search to find solutions. I think maybe I’m still a bit naive and very stubborn when rereading the same articles regarding this issue. I would like to hear about this through the recovery communities, if you can help me out with this.?

I still struggle with insomnia. Its gotten better since I got back to running. Staying off your phone or computer before bed is a good idea too. Read a book or do something else relaxing.

You know what else I’ve noticed lately? I’m remembering shitty things that happened to me when I try to go to sleep. It’s like now that I’m not drinking memory-loss juice all my crappy memories are coming back. The floodgates are opening. Bla.

Basically all those memories and regrets I am now facing are drowning me at night which is completely inevitable. Those memories do come to me aggressively and all my emotions have my mind wander. Glad to see i can relate (

It seriously took me about two months after I quit my addiction to even be able to sleep right. Or " normal " your body will adjust and get back to normal soon just stay strong try some hot tea before bed just relax
