So weird. Im starting my first ever post on here and a fight just broke out between these two guys at the sober house im at.

Hi I’m David. So I downloaded this app today and am happy to be here. Im a renewed greatful believer in Jesus Christ. Im 57 days sober from alcohol, weed, meth, heroin, fetynal… basically whatever I can find. The last year and a half has been hell. Ive tried multiple times to kill myself…update these two dudes in the sober house are getting kicked out right now. Super stressful environment. Anyway I have been happily married for 18 years. My wife and I have 3 wonderful sons. About a year and a half ago it was my 40th birthday. I have drank and smoked weed since I was a teenager. I thoughti had control. Every five years or so i would plan a cocaine night for my wife and I. We would have fun and then put it down and go back to our life. I kept the same job at QuikTrip for 17 years. So for my 40th birthday I wanted to do coke. After that night I couldnt put it down and for the last year and a half I have been addicted to drugs. I left the house. Tried to come back but she wont have me. I ran out of coke money so I switched to meth. Then I found heroin. The fetty was strictly for suicide purposes…there is a lot of details im skipping and im not here t9 talk shit about my wife. Im sure you get the picture though. Its really messed up. Im trying to get help now. Its too late for my marriage. My kids havent talked to me in a long time. Im super sad.

It’s never too late to get sober. In my experience, the improvements in my life come amazingly quick when I focus on my recovery. We have The Promises in our AA literature. When I first read them I thought the things that I read could never happen in my life. Don’t overwhelm yourself…. Don’t clean the entire house … organize the sock drawer and go from there 🤣 Go slow, stay focused and practice sobriety today ! Stay vigilant and WELCOME 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Keep us posted 🙏💪👍

Thank you for sharing. Congrats on 57 days sober! Try to just focus on building your recovery. I agree with @NewEnglander1970 the blessing and potential reunifications can come as a result of solid recovery and being a man who lives into your values.

Wishing you well.

Ps its ok to be sad sometimes
