It's not worth it anymore

I’ve reset my app numerous times. I need to stop drinking. My body will give out on me if I continue. I know it. It’s not worth it anymore. It never was.

I can relate, I’ve slipped up more than once, and had more “Day 1’s” than I care to talk about. Last time was it for me. I went to my doctor and told her all about my problem. She prescribed me Naltrexone, and talked to me about the Sinclair Method. Basically Naltrexone is a drug that removes the ‘kick’ you get from alcohol (or other drugs). An hour before you think you might be tempted to drink something, you take a pill. Then even if you do drink, you won’t feel any rush, and therefore it becomes unsatisfying, and you lose your desire to drink. I have been taking this for about 2 weeks now, and I think it has helped some with the cravings. I did give in and try to have a drink the first day or two, but I found that it did not taste good, smelled kinda sour, and did not “do” anything for me. The last drink I had, I couldn’t even finish it. So I have been keeping the fridge stocked with other things: iced tea, lemonade, Vitamin water. When the “witching hour” comes in the evening, I have a drink of something non-alcoholic and go find something to do until dinnertime. After dinner, I never want any. I am now on my 10th day, and feeling much better. Maybe Naltrexone might help you also. Wishing you the best of luck, be strong!

Thank you very much. I’ll definitely keep that in mind
