Jacksons accountability check-in

Hey, I am new here. Just wanted to come and let everybody know that I’ve been officially a day clean from pot.. It is a process and not an easy one but I hope that I can meet some cool people here to help me through it. I really want to become clean from weed as it is hindering me throughout my daily life and affecting my future.

Welcome to the community. This is a really awesome place full of a lot of wonderful people from all walks of life and different kinds of addictions. But we are all here for the same reason because whatever are drug of choice is has caused consequences or interfered with our life on some kind of level. Glad to hear you have decided to do something about your marijuana addiction. Keep things simple in the beginning and just make a goal to get through 24 hours at a time. If I can be honest it’s pretty frustrating because marijuana seems to get a pass in some circles but I feel like it’s one of the most addictive substances on the planet And has a ridiculous amount of side effects and problems associated with it. You’re definitely better off without it. Speaking for myself Especially when I first got sober My brain wanted to trick me or tell me that maybe my problem wasn’t that bad And maybe I was making a big deal about things but now looking back that was just my addiction trying to bring me back. Don’t forget why you decided to stop marijuana in the first place. Stay involved with your recovery and put your recovery first and everything else will fall into place. It might seem difficult in the beginning as you adapt to sobriety but nothing worthwhile is easy. You have to practice sobriety until it becomes normal. And after some time you will realize you don’t need marijuana to have a good time or for any reason at all.

I’m over 2 years no alcohol over 1 year nic free and almost 10 months no marijuana

I quit pot several times be4 this last sobriety streak. I would crave it 24-7

I got a full time job 2 years ago and last winter I got my forklift certification for work. Several and I mean SEVERAL times I thought if I was smoking weed still I’d be high at work on the forklift. If i made a mistake I could be drug tested. What I’m trying to say is that the benefits of quitting are greater then if I was smoking

I went through withdrawals for quite a while and I still crave it. The difference between then and now is that now I can pass on it with a easy no. Be4 I would literally have to hide out from my friends who smoked

I’ll tell you right now that the withdrawal really really sucks. The obsession, craving and anxiety are reallllll

I’m so happy I don’t touch it anymore.
The only substance in my system is caffeine

Then again I also take mental health meds
I use the meds as a tool to get through the day

Good luck

Best thing you can do is post what your feeling when your craving pot. That’s what I did. Just writing it down helps

Welcome! Also a recovering stoner, smoked daily for years and now I’m nearly 6 months sober. This app has been a game changer for me and the community is the biggest tool that has helped this sobriety attempt stick.

Glad you have created a personal thread. Check in daily, or even several times a day if you need/want. You can and will do this. We’re all here with you!
