Labor day weekend

Going to be a hard one. What is keeping y’all strong? I need some motivation.

@Ericka.celeste1 You can definitely make it through!! Don’t go to the grocery store, first of all. Because I’m sure alcohol purchases will be more than a regular weekend. Try to remember why you wanted to quit drinking, how bad it was when you were drinking, and remind yourself that isn’t ever just one or two. Don’t just focus on how bad it was though, also think about how good it is not to drink. You wake up actually feeling good, your brain actually works, and you sleep better at night. Just a few things I like to keep in mind over these long (in more ways than one) weekends.

You really can do this!!

I have a similar problem. Ive been sober for almost a week with a long weekend starting Saturday.

I made a list of all the tasks I’ve been wanting to do over the year but never did because I was busy drinking. The plan is to get all of it done. It’s a long list and will keep me busy and away from the temptation to drink. Hope that helps.

This forum definitely helps. Its crazy how you can forget everything you are training yourself to think in a second. Never really knew how much of a manipulator I was even To myself. To think that maybe just a couple of beers is ok. Just a buzz. I mean everyone is doing it right?I’m sure I can handle it…just thoughts that went through my mind last night. After reading the forum, those thoughts shut up Reeeeeally quick. This morning again I am strong in my convictions. Waking up early in the morning with no hang over ready to go bike riding is a great feeling. Thank you everyone in this forum for your support. You guys are great!!

Enjoy your ride, it’s a Beautiful DAY!
