Lifting the fog

I’ve been in the rooms over a year and have 2 months sober.
I’m struggling to keep my mind clear and open to gods direction
I’ve made some really stupid mistakes the last couple of days that nearly has me drinking again.
How do you keep the connection with your higher power and keep the mind from doing sillyness

Just keep doing the next right thing. Stay focused on right now. God isn’t gonna put the work in for you, believe in yourself.

I hang onto the thought that there is nothing that a drink can’t make worse. As Dan says, do the next right thing, but also do it mindfully. Really notice that you are living in a different way and appreciate it. They don’t have to be massive changes all the time, but give yourself props for trying to improve.

Meditation. It was difficult at first because I found my mind wandering but I took the advice of others and learned to focus on my breathing when it happens. Also, talking to another alcoholic from the rooms and praying together.
