At least 3 -10 minutes of mindfulness meditation every day, tons of guided ones on YouTube, has been beyond beneficial to my recovery from my addictions as well as my negative thinking and lifelong mood disorders. Every human on earth, don't care how busy they are, has 3-10 minutes a day to give to this type of self care, it's necessary.
It's helped my pain tolerance increase, willpower increase, sleep need decrease, compassion increase, ability to live in the moment t increase, anxiety decrease, depression decrease and the benefits really seem endless.
I will tag you in a thread where I've shared how Buddhism teachings coincide wonderfully with a happy recovery, it's basically all about love and doing good and in turn feeling good, guarding our thoughts and living in the moment. It's more a way of life than a religion and in general goes along great with most religions.
There is no wrong way to meditate, try it and you are doing it, keep it simple
