As an agnostic who is studying Buddhism, I find that distractions help a lot! It can be something simple like a walk with the dog or something elaborate like a batch of homemade soap or completing a sewing project.
We are all unique and need to find our own coping mechanisms in order to kick our addictions!
(Edited to add: I am not able to meditate through cravings, yet, but that is my goal. At the moment, I can’t have silence when I am thinking about alcohol)
I’m dealing with stressful stuff…tax season, catching up on business receipts, quiting smoking soon, feeling overwelmed with anxiety. So…

Me too…apparently I like dragging out the pain…lol I need peace and quiet and just get after it. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. That’s where my baby steps to- do list comes in handy.
