Why do I never think of utilizing apps for guided meditation? Brilliant!
So glad I came across this thread!
Thanks for all the great ideas. Im looking to move beyond 10 minutes at a time. Ive done well at 10 minutes, for early sobriety I think I’m fairing pretty well. When I got clean from meth a few decades back it took me a couple of years to be able to mediate lol go figure lol
You folks rock!

I had a few nights of crappy sleeps so hooked back into sleep meditations these are the ones I have done over the last few days.

Definitely feeling more rested.

Woke up early so laid into this one before I got out of bed. Great way to start my day.

@Soberbilly wondering if you would like to join in on this thread. I think you are working on your meditation practice???

I think we may be meditating together sometimes!!! We like many of the same ones. Isn’t that fun to consider! Tho time zones…but still.

It’s an app called Insight Timer there are SO MANY amazing meditations and they are free. There are live classes too that you can join, some are free, some there are a fee. Lots of us have found serenity by using the meditations on Insight Timer.

Haha yes, well I was thinking it would be fun to join a live meditation as a group one day.

Yes, Recovery Dharma meetings were actually the first meetings I attended early in my recovery. I cleaned up Dec 2019 so just before COVID when all the meetings were first going to ZOOM. It took a long time to get everyone organized on ZOOM so meetings were scarce for quite awhile. I live in a rather remote area and the only in person RD meeting is over an hour drive away. I knew that I didn’t want to be virtual for my whole recovery so I decided to put my efforts in NA as they are open spiritually and there were SO many meeting choices in my area.

I do reach into Buddhist teachings a lot in my program especially in my meditation practice. I will admit though I like to have freedom in the program I work in regards to not only using one source or teaching for my recovery. Keeping an openmind and being curious has allowed me to experience so much more.

I am really glad you feel as though you have found your niche and something that you can connect with. It’s so important for us to have that so we feel safe enough to look inward.

That was brutal.
I hate affirmations.
Guess I needed it. Maybe it’ll be easier next time.

Oh I wonder if it has to do with the device. You can still link the YouTube meditations you do I would love to see them. I bet you cam also find some of these people on YouTube. I know that Brian doesn’t use Insight Timer so I am sure he’d also love to see some new meditations. @I.cant.We.can
