because i am not easily scared by movies anymore, sadly… i absolutely would do this to heighten the suspense!
last movie to scare so much was the Grudge. i was so scared, i walked out of the theater… my friends still remind of it to this day and it STILL gives me the heebie jeebies!
Lol, memories. My first command I was the officer in charge of the torpedo magazines. That happened my first week. A sailor, doing routine maintenance flooded both magazines. Luckily…no torpedoes were stored at that time. Needless to say he spent the next month confined to the ship, cleaning every inch of those 2 magazines.
From a very early age, I’d freak if I was presented and would refuse to blow the candles out, I think on my 7th or 8th birthday (selective mutism till that age). The mother asked about a cake I gaged and said I was not eating a cake I’d spat on… I’ve never had cake since 
I now feel so cheated I had to watch this on dry land.
Wait, actually there’s no way I would watch this film in a small boat. I would watch other people watch this in a boat. After this year, I would need a bigger boat. A much, much bigger boat!
