I accidentally got on my best friends bad side by telling him to calm down. I realized later, “You know, I have depression and I really hate it when people tell me to just cheer up.”
He said, “Make a deal with you; don’t tell me to calm down and I won’t tell you to cheer up.”
Tragically, he passed away last September but that was one of the best interactions we ever had.

I’ve done a lot of dishwashing jobs in restaurants. A regular spoon is nothing compared to a ladle Pro tip: hold the bowl under the water line when you squirt it. figured that out the hard way.
