Eric, that could be a joke about aging (which is not for sissies!), or about sobriety. So very many mornings I would come to and
- do a scan to see what hurt the worst (head, stomach, or maybe some body part that was injured in a fall),
- try to determine where I was
- find out how much money was left in my wallet so I could drink that day.
Do that for a few decades and then just waking up with a sore hip, in the same bed day after day, gets to be really easy!
