The j sound is familiar because it looks like a peanut butter brand, these are my thoughts. Gif stands for graphics interchange format (I definitely googled that) so a hard g for graphics makes sense too. I would never correct anyone on this matter as long as I knew you weren’t referring to peanut butter.

If you can’t wait for more do what I do and (surprisingly) will admit here. I started back at Meme Wars 1 and am reading the historical documents (Galaxy Quest anyone) up to the present. So far I’m in November of 2019 so Covid is just around the corner. They make me laugh and not dwell on life before bed. I commit to my obsessions. 
I knew what GIF stood for so didn’t know why jif was even an option. I grew up with Skippy, but always thought JIF was peanuttier.
