I don’t know who needs to hear this, but your kids want sober parents.
It doesn’t matter if they’re 5, 15, or 25.
It doesn’t matter if you think they don’t need you anymore.
It doesn’t matter if you think they’re too young to know.
They will always want sober parents.
They want sober parents when they’re 5 years old, riding around in the back of some strangers car in the middle of the night while you search for your next high.
They want sober parents when they’re 15, searching for love in the wrong places ‘cause they couldn’t get it from the one person they really needed it from.
They want sober parents when they’re 25, raising children of their own & seeing how easy it is to just simply choose them.
No matter how old your kids are, no matter how long you’ve been an addict, no matter how much you’re convinced otherwise, I promise you that your kids will always want sober parents.
