I definitely agree with this part.
Although I disagree with this part. I think it also can depend on the area. My humane society was not horribly strict. Honestly - I wish they were a bit MORE strict. Yes, adopting a rescue can be tedious, but if you’re able, it’s a very worthwhile cause. While they can contribute to folks getting dogs elsewhere, I don’t agree rescues keep the puppy mills in business. People buying “designer dogs” without looking into the breeder are more (but not solely) responsible. And more importantly, the greed of the puppy mills is at fault. Let’s say you want a Golden. Or bully. Or pug. There are also many rescue organizations that you can adopt from that will have a specific breed if that is your choice.
