Metal Thread (Part 1)

Native American black metal :hushed::metal:t2:
BlackBraid: Barefoot ghost dance on blood soaked soil

Taken against her will
Made to suffer
Rape and defilement
Of our sacred mother
Who will stand
Against her desecration
A blood dawn rises
Today is a beautiful day to die

@Runningfree I know you like Korn…I just heard this band for the first time and they sound very similar to me, you might like it too.

Ooh, checking this out. Big fan of Resistant Culture who are more grindcore, but also very native, might be up your alley if you’re not already familiar (they’ve been around for a while, I think their singer was in Terrorizer)

It’s actually one of my favorite mid 90s death metal albums, maybe because coming at metal from a background of crusty-ish punk I appreciated that it wasn’t so slick or technical as some others. It might even have been part of me getting into metal at all because I had it on cassette, which definitely means I found it during a specific era lol. Aging myself.

Blackbraid album is so good

Well, I guess it’s time, considering the news, to listen to Akvan, from Iran

That was about the malevolent creation album right? It’s cool you got into metal because of this. For me it was the other way around. First got into metal, i guess where i came from real underground culture didn’t exist, i just didn’t get in touch with it until i moved into a bigger town and got to know other people into crust punk etc. But than developed a definite preference for it and metal went more to the background. Not for musicality perse but more for the attitude and commercialism surrounding it

Not sure this goes here :woman_shrugging:t2: I’ve never heard of this band and I’m loving them! Found them on my daily Spotify mix

Wouldn’t call Rush metal, and well I’m not Canadian, or over 50 but for sure Rush is a phenomenal band hands down.

When grading drummers I always say rate your self, on a scale of I can do a basic Straight 8 rock beat, to Neil Peart where do you fall in that spectrum
