Metal Thread (Part 1)

I like that. Are they on Spotify do you know?
I don’t get on with what, when I was younger, was called “Thrash Metal” screaming down the mic.
Sorry Hanna, I think my post got misconstrued.
I was wondering if anybody was going to Download Festival. What was once called The Monsters of Rock!

Okay now i get it  double take as always…
I hope youll find company to attend that :sunglasses:

Edit how about speed metal? I hate that

Edit i wouldnt know about spotify, i use youtube music

Edit how about this classic rock, aerosmith? nine lives is my favorite album

Must admit never really got into them. I believe the early stuff was good, but I didn’t really like where rock was going in the 80’s my understanding of it was you could have either tight leather trousered, big hair Bon Jovi type, or death, speed, thrash, call it what you want. Didn’t really like either so I stuck with my 60/70’s rock. Ala Deep Purple, Rainbow, Zeppelin, Hendrix etc.

Aah deep purple purpendicular :heart::heart:
Hendrix ofcourse.
What about Dio or Iron maiden?

My first album (vinyl it was back then last century) i bought when 13 was Led Zeppelin 3

Maiden and Dio comes under the etc. Though after Killers I fell out of love with maiden. The only reason we are going to Download Festival is because a work friend of my wife’s is camping. My wife found out Whitesnake are playing Friday and that they do day tickets.
When she phoned me I could tell she wanted to go so I said ok.
Found out Slash is playing so it’s not all bad. The other headline is Def leopard. Great first album, didn’t like anything else.
But I dragged her to see Genesis years ago and Clapton so I suppose it’s payback time.

This is one I’ve found recently, I love the lyrics.

And here’s one just for us "oldies":joy::joy:

Slash is always a good reason to go for🤘
You know i went to see maiden with my son about 15 yrs ago in helsinki and i didnt get anything out of that gig…

I think ronnie james dio is the best heavy metal singer ever.

I really only appreciated him after he died. Obviously loved Rainbow, and they weren’t the same after he left imho.
Plus when Ozzy left Sabbath I didn’t listen to anymore of them. These days I think Heaven and Hell is one of the best Sabbath albums

Im pretty close to that soon :+1:and youve not seen me wearing good war painting

Edit youve not seen me at all :grinning:

This i havent shared here before just because i think it might be too much for a whisky lover (well i was one too). Ok laugh at me, but really. So beautiful intro and all of it. Warning, alcohol involved… :scream:

This is an example how he could sing both soft and hard. The inevitable syropy heavy ballad (the flutes are killing me)

A great run of posts on here. Love Maiden, Dio, Minor Threat.

These guys are awesome, real unsung heroes. I reckon @anon12657779 and @Fireweed will enjoy :+1:

Anyone like Uriah Heep or Scorpions? 2 of my favourite classic rock bands. Demons and Wizards and In Trance are incredible albums.
