I really enjoyed todays keep it simple.

Today’s meditation likewise reminds me of a surprise twist in a certain professional development thing. They have you open yourself up to anonymous feedback from your peers and those above and below you in the organization. They compile a detailed list of your strengths and weaknesses.

Then they say, don’t beat yourself up about the weaknesses. It’s a prideful trap many striving to do better fall into. Instead recognize your weaknesses, but then focus on how you can leverage your strengths to not let them be a barrier anymore.

The counselor gave some concrete examples of how to do that and it was a real “ah ha” moment.

This meditation reminds me though. Later sobriety is weird, man. Over time reflecting and seeing how things I was proud of before are sometimes a liability. And things I was ashamed of can actually be a source of strength I just wasn’t using right.
