TW//Cocaine

My favourite movie is Scarface (1983). Was considering rewatching it today, but I did not have the time as it was more than two hours long. I even have a poster of the movie in my room!

So, the movie is about a cuban man who moves to America, and is almost immediately sucked into Miamiā€™s cocaine empire. He eventually kills off a few mobbosses and becomes a kingpin. At the end, his own lust for money and the drug habits of himself and his wife take their tollā€¦

Beautiful movie, would recommend watching, careful though, the movie contains alot of substance abuse.

See Jo Jo Rabbit now :+1:
It must be good because my wife and I both liked it. That never happens. And how can you not want to watch Sam Rockwell. I love  him.

If your favorite movie is Scarface check out Carlitoā€™s Way both movies directed by Brian De Palma both are Great Films.

Iā€™m a big fan of Kobayashi, but only watched Harakiri for the first time last night. I think it might actually be my favourite of his films. Really stunning stuff. A samurai revenge story, slow, stylish. The main themes are anti-authoritarianism, rebellion and revenge.

I had a look for a trailer but couldnā€™t really find anything. But the full film is on YT. Is it good? It sounds quite fun from what I have read.

Brilliant. To me it was about personal evolution, going through a trial, redemption, metamorphosis. Itā€™s totally batshit. And Reece Shearsmith is perfect in it.

This is a brilliant film, and reminds me that I want to go and see In the Earth, have you seen that?

Tatie Danielle I rewatched last night and I canā€™t tell if I love it due to nostalgia or because it is a great film (maybe itā€™s both). Itā€™s definitely worth a watch for the auntā€™s performance.

I havenā€™t and thanks for the reminder, Iā€™d completely forgotten about it :+1:

Iā€™m sure I will like it, I like everything Iā€™ve seen of his, especially Sightseers. Really funny. A Field in England is something else tho, special.

Iā€™ll give Tatie Danielle a go I think. Iā€™m intrigued now.

Ya me too. And my wife enjoyed it. She doesnā€™t like graphic violence. Me neither really. Looks like they left an opening for another one :crossed_fingers:

This is on my list, was it good?

Magnificent. Hard going, bleak, really powerful imagery and mood. Iā€™ve been trying to work my way through the Tarkovsky films in the last year of so, itā€™s the second time I had seen Stalker and if anything it resonated more with me this time. ā€˜The Zoneā€™ kind of feels like the whole world at the moment, ever changing, dangerous, confusing. But with a prize and redemption for those that can make it through. I really like Solaris aswell, thatā€™s another great one of his.

Have you seen any of his films?

Iā€™ve just had a look and I donā€™t think I have, so now I am wondering why it was on my list. I am guessing it was probably a dystopian recommendation. I leave notes for myself of things to watch and often I have no idea where it has come from. I shall bump it up on that feedback, thanks.
