It was very long though! I felt the start and the end sections were incredibly well paced, but did feel it dipped a few times in the middling hours. It could have had 20+ minutes scraped out in my final edit. ![]()
Altogether, Iām not sure what I thought. It was rather compelling, but also not completely satisfying. Some of the acting was a bit questionable (yes you, Mr Pearce).
3.8/5 *
I wonāt be watching it again.
Yes I absolutely love this movie and itās probably my favorite Quentin Tarantino movie!! I feel like this movie out of everything heās made doesnāt get enough credit or views. I think itās better than pulp fiction !!
I watched Thanksgiving on Netflix a couple nights ago and it was meh but Iām glad I finally got round to watching it
I want to see that new Leonardo DiCaprio movie maybe by something Anderson is the Director? I saw a trailer a couple months ago but Iām not sure if itās still in theaters Iām about to Google it and Iāll come back with an edit with the name!! That would be cool to see that in theaters I donāt remember the last time I went to a movie theater
Edit:
I donāt think itās necessarily that Pulp Fiction is that good; itās that when it came out, you didnāt see many (or any) popular films with a nonlinear structure. That, as well as QTās blend of violence and humor, led to a lot of imitators. Iām no expert on QTās career (and I might like Once Upon a Time the best of his films), but thatās where I think the love for Pulp Fiction comes from. (Ugh, damned autocorrect keeps trying to change it to Polyp Fiction, a very different film.)
I canāt wait to see this. I heard itās more an āinfluenced byā Pynchonās Vineland (which looks at the 1960s through the 1980s, and vice versa) than the more literal interpretation PT Anderson made with Inherent Vice.
By your language and the way youāre talking it seems like youāre really into movies also! What is your favorite time period For movies? Mine would be the 90s for sure! I prefer basic for lack of better words drama movies with not a lot of special effects and more just realness. So many good movies came out in the 90s and a long time ago I found this thrift store that sold VHSās for five cents so I was watching like three or four movies a day thatās when I first really got into them. When people ask what kind of movies I like I always use Shawshank redemption as a Example.. Those are the kind of movies are like
Yeah, Iām really into movies. Iām a āliker,ā I can generally find something I like in every period or genre, but I particularly enjoy film noir and crime films. Things like Kubrickās The Killing, Scorseseās Mean Streets, Yatesā The Friends of Eddie Coyle, Lynchās Mulholland Drive, Peckinpaghās The Getaway. That kind of thing.
Great movie. Watched it right after I saw your post the other day.
Heās the best! Not my favorite movie. But I can totally see how it being music youād love it. But heās always great! I did like how it was so different and current times ish.
I would agree. I definitely sunk right into the music points. SaDenzel is one of my all time favorites.

Flight with Denzel Washington is on Tubi! Iāve seen this movie at least two or three times but I might have to watch it again because itās a very good representation of an alcoholic and very realistic
PS: Shutter Island is on Tubi as well they mustāve added a bunch of movies recently in the last couple days
Edit: I ended up going with American sniper With Bradley Cooper because Iāve never seen that before but Iām still definitely going to watch flight and shutter Island again! I really do love Tubi!! I forget that every couple weeks they upload a bunch of movies that are different or new or whatever..
Have you seen any of these @Dazercat .. Especially flight?
I love Flight. And American Sniper. They are so good.
If you like America Sniper. Check out Lone Survivor with Mark Wahlberg and Taylor Kitsh. Really great intense movie.
Donāt think Iāve seen Shutter Island.
Thanks for the suggestion lone survivor.. I probably should start posting these movies after I watch them but I just started American sniper about 30 minutes ago and I can already tell itās going to be a really good movie that Iām going to watch more than once..
Itās weird how you can tell a movie is really good like right away! I always wonder or think about what makes a movie good like that where you can tell right away..
Anyway Iāll probably post some more about this American sniper movie when I get finished and then Iāll figure out where to watch the lone survivor
Ps: I really think you would like shutter Island! It has a really good cast and itās the type of movie that you donāt want to get up or walk away from and can watch more than once
