Definitely has a REM mixed with U2 feel, now you just need your 4k Bono glasses
From when I was about 9 to late teens, this was in my ear.
Definitely left an impression on my arrangements.
The 90ās called, they want their music back!
Threw this song together over the last 2 days. Total throwback to the 90ās!
Howās that Jazzmaster treating you?
I really like the Jag, but thereās one thing, itās got a 24" scale and feels tiny in my hands. Other than that, itās tops!
Thatās my thing the 25.5 scale on the jazz master still throws me off
My schecters are a 26ā scale, and the string tension is there Iām so used to that scale length that paired with the right strings. I can play all night long.
On the jazz master they use the thinner .009 gauge strings with shorter scale length and a higher bridge and action and while I can still play it, it feels way different but the warmth of tone is great, great slide guitar.
My roommate is a fender guru and has a hand full of strats and teles, he just got an American strat and I was disappointed. He has a Mexican strat that I love. So I figured a new American strat would be a step up, no I prefer the mex strat and this Mexican tele he has. Is top notch got a super hot sound and feels plays great. Iām still trying to get him to sell it to me
Ahhh. Youāre in the same boat then! Takes a bit to get used to, which is odd to me, considering itās only 1.5 inches shorter than Iām used toā¦
Iām in possession of my daughterās Mexican strat, Iāve noodles on it for a minute or two, havenāt really played it properly yet. Thatās one guitar on my list, not sure if Iāll get the American made one yet or not, Iām in no rush.
Yeah I was honestly surprised, I think every guitar player should own a strat, just cause. But the Sad thing was while the American got that polished look, nicer finish and the fender signature American series sticker on the head stock
The Mexican one sounded better, just not as aesthetically pleasing I told him, I would order replacement stickers. And make it look like an American strat unless your an expert or look up the numbers you wouldnāt know the difference
The tele I was telling you about
Can you hear the sustain, wait listen the sustain
I donāt hear anything
Well if it was playing youād hear it
I now own it, Iām working on a 90s grunge/pop alt rock project, with some guys from the DMV. And I asked him to borrow it as a second guitar for this project as I think the tele sound just fits better. He said sure
Texts me today and says I just bought a new tele I know you like that one so give me 75 bucks itās yours, I cash appd him and said sold, it needs a little TLC to get it perfect but at that price I couldnāt pass it up
Right on! Thatās a great buy! I love my tele, such a unique tone!
Right this one got some serious bite and the pickups are pretty hot especially the bridge,
I did some research, itās a 2001 issue affinity so the affinity series went with the retro look, 70s style headstock and well body, but the body of the tele I donāt think ever changed.
It is obviously a mex tele you can just tell by looking at it in comparison to my jazz master, but still a cool guitar
I want to find a Dookie guitar. Cause Yano nastolgia
Sweet! You can also do some country twang too!
I have an affinity strat that doesnāt get much use cuz Dave Navarro signed it, right where my arm sitsā¦
Right I was just gonna say that, I was making fun of @DeadMist about the country thing I was like I can play country itās the same four chords, I just need the hat and boots. Plus a pick up truck
Did you get Dave to sign it personally or did you buy it that way.
Iām really enjoying working with this 90ās group no songs to learn cause I know them all grab your flannels and chucks. Cause weāll come as you are
It is a rainy, inside sort of day, so I decided to make a little video, you know, to see if I could.
EDIT: I need to lose that COVID weight!
Pretty damn good Dan! I listened to many of your original songs you post on here and I really dig them.
Very good for a one man show! Love all your music, Dan.
Thanks Peter!
I just need to clone myself and I can have a band of Dans and take this show on the road!
Hey there!
I finally released an EP of my original music. Itās available now (or shortly) at your favorite digital music service.
Itās under the name Scared of August and the EP is titled The Things I Canāt Forget.
Special thanks to @Lisa07, @Fury, @DLS, @Salty, @Petr and the rest. Thanks for your support! Without it, I probably wouldnāt have done this. One of my goals in life was to do exactly this and now itās achieved. I think that I can die in peace, knowing that Iāve left my mark on this world, however small, as if to say, ,āDan was hereā. Again, thank you!
Really proud of you man!! Iāll make sure to share amongst the DMV scene, hey maybe you can book some stuff here lol
This is awesome!! So happy you finally decided to do it. I love all your music and Iāll be putting these on repeat.
