I thought I finally had the strength to stop relapsing when I woke up on my birthday December 23rd. I made it through the birthday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I also made it through New Year’s Eve and I entered 2017 with 9 days of sobriety under my belt. Then on New Year’s Day I relapsed. I made it through the rest of that week until I relapsed again on a 2 day weekend binge last weekend . So now it’s getting close to the weekend again, a long holiday weekend at that. I want to remain sober this time without relapse! What I’m going to do different this time is I’m going to truly remain in the " one day at a time mind frame. To many times in my past failures I allowed myself to get ahead of myself and that has caused me many relapses. So I’m currently finishing up my 4th consecutive one day at a time. That’s all I’m concerned with now. I will be concerned with tomorrow when I need to be.

Stop Buying it. Change your routine. If you take route A to get home and pass your favorite watering hole/liquor store/grocery store, take route B. Break your habits. Learn your triggers, so you can learn to handle them sober
