Well tonight is the first night meeting up with some of my teammates after being on a hiatus. I’ve only confessed to two of them about my alcoholism, but those two won’t be there tonight. Fingers crossed I don’t fall into the “oh just have one beer”, thing and instead stick to my guns of staying sober. Going on 12 days and I don’t want to blow it. Damn peer pressure!

I survived!! Luckily not everyone was drinking. I brought my water bottle with me and turns out so did about 5 other girls. I dodged a bullet tonight. I’m going to have to come clean before our first game, because it’s the after parties that can get me into trouble. Thank you for the vote of confidence @justMe2! You are awesome!

Great job! It’s the routine social stuff that always gets me, too. It’s way too easy to take that glass of wine that I’ve always had with friends. It’s good to hear that other people weren’t drinking, hopefully that means they won’t be bothered when they find out you’ve quit. It’s weird how some people get so bothered!
You should be proud of yourself! That’s a big accomplishment!

Oh goodness thank you so much! Isn’t it strange how some people are bothered by someone not drinking? When I was sober years ago, I actually had one girl get in my face and ask “You don’t drink, and you don’t eat meat? What do you do?!” She laughed at me after. She was drunk, so I just laughed it off because I felt sorry for her. It feels good waking up exhausted because of insomnia and not a hangover! Have a great day @justMe2! 
Cat lady over here!! I have 3. Thank you! That’s my Charlie. He doesn’t talk too much actually. When he does it’s usually to sass me because he needs to be fed immediately. Ha!

You got this!!! You’re almost at 2 weeks! And think ahead…remember that we never stop at one and even if you did, you’d spend the rest of the time wishing for another. Just enjoy the company and not the drink!
