I am late to the party (as usual) but The Watcher is very compelling.
Show’s I am watching or recently watched:
- Righteous Gemstones (HBO/Max)
- Only Murders in the Building (Hulu)
- Hard Knocks (HBO/Max)
- What we do in the Shadows (Hulu)
I’m always a fan of any docu-series. Netflix and Hulu both have some good ones. I’m a bit of a true crime fan.
Just finished Barry season 3.
Working on Season 4 now.
All caught up on The Bear.
Beef was crazy insane weird wild “Dark Comedy.” Very dark not sure I liked it, but couldn’t stop watching it. @Soberbilly
I hear they might do a season 2. Probably different actors.
Maybe it will be like the White Lotus kind of a thing. With different stories each season.
bro I’m loving strange worlds. i’m on Season 1 episode 3 it’s awesome so far. I was a huge fan of the first 2 seasons of Star Trek Discovery and Picard Seasons 1-3.
I’m an old school Trekky, i’m grew up on TNG in the 90’s. I’m still more of a Picard guy than a Kirk guy…
Me too. I’ve come to appreciate each captain on their own terms, and I started thinking of them like apples and oranges: I like each one for its own unique characteristics.
There are things Sisko does that Picard (or Kirk, or the others) could never do. Same for Janeway, Pike, etc etc - each one has their own deep and unique style; they’re threads in the Trek tapestry.
“Threads in the Trek Tapestry”. Very well said!
I have the week off and started Righteous Gemstones last night. It is good! No judgement if I finish it this week.
It is so good!!! Like 3 exclamation mark good!!! Its got the perfect blend of stupid humor, witty humor, action, mystery and heart.
Yes! I worried that Danny McBride would be too much but it is just enough tongue in cheek mixed with some laugh out loud. Excellent recommendation!
TW : prescription drug use
I just watched “Painkiller” on Netflix about Oxycontin…my gosh im flabbergasted
Lost Flowers of Alice Hart - Prime
Beautifully shot production with Sigourney Weaver taking a lead role, along with a raft of Aussie actors. Filmed in Australia.
Sometimes slow, yet deliberate, it is nonetheless very engaging and layered. Genuine, crafted quality.
@SassyRocks I think you would really like this.
In “The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart,” the namesake plants have multiple meanings. After a fire takes the lives of both of her parents in coastal Australia, nine-year-old Alice (Alyla Browne) moves to Thornfield, a secluded wildflower farm run by her estranged grandmother June (Sigourney Weaver). But Thornfield is more than just a source a native flora; “flowers” are also what June calls her employees, all women escaping violent pasts and troubled home lives. That group now includes Alice, whose father Clem (Charlie Vickers) — June’s son — physically abused both her and her mother Agnes (Tilda Cobham-Hervey), who was pregnant at the time of her death. Rather than discuss this painful irony, June and Alice rely on floriography, the traditional art of using flowers as symbols imbued with specific meaning. In this coded language, an artfully curated bouquet can stand in for a frank conversation.
An old school trekkie fan of the first two seasons of Discovery, that’s refreshing!
I like all Discovery seasons but I’m glad they get rid if these strange new Klingons, and put some light on every crew member in SNW !
The final of the SNW season 2 is so good. The previous one was so fun too
Thanks for the rec Aybee! I LOVE Sigourney Weaver!! And the flower symbolism aspect sounds intriguing. I will give it a go.
Nice one.
It’s a staggered release with 4 of 7 episodes released so far. Looking forward to E5 (Aug 18) It’s all getting spicy…
Spicy is right up my alley!!
What’d you watch it all in one setting?
only 10 episodes and i am on episode 7 already — dang
this may be the last one for today… such a great show and i can’t stand Steve normally but great acting here!
